Adam Scott is Getting Closer and Closer to the Best Players in Golf
By Ally White

Holding a trophy in his hands, this is officially Adam Scott's best year. This has been his most consisting season and it was only missing a PGA Tour, but not anymore, he closed with a 4-under 66 and that got him his very own Tour Championship. The dark side of things was for the fanatics since Scott turned the season finale into a snoozer, playing flawless golf until it no longer mattered. Hundreds of fans headed for the parking lot when the 26-year-old Australian made the turn with a three-stroke lead, and he never let anyone get any closer.

His goal was to be a bigger and scarier rival, and he accomplished that making it to nine top tens, six of those in the first, second or third the lowest. It was his fourth career PGA Tour victory, and it earned him the last spot at Kapalua for the winners-only Mercedes-Benz Championship that starts the 2007 season in 61 days. Scott finished at 11-under 269 and earned $1.17 million to finish a career-high third on the PGA.

Scott can now count five trophies on the PGA Tour, even though only four count in the record books since his playoff victory in the Nissan Open last year was unofficial because rain shortened the tournament to 36 holes. Scott got the first-place check and in his own list of achievements, the trophy. The next step for Scott is competing in a major level and for now, he will have to settle for winning two of the PGA Tour's elite events. The Players Championship two years ago and the Tour Championship.

It was the perfect way to end the PGA Tour season for Scott.
